My first fundraiser (which I did via my music promotion work) was in 2016 via a limited edition CD of a track called 'Surrender' by Killing For Company, featuring Stuart Cable (Stereophonic founding member and original drummer).  50 CDs were kindly gifted to me by Dischromatics Ltd, who pressed the CDs and printed the covers which I had designed.

With donations taken for the 50 CDs I was able to donate £200 to Tŷ Hafan and their Music Therapy project (it seemed appropriate given how the money was raised).

I had my press release printed in papers across South Wales (such as Western Mail, South Wales Echo, South Wales Evening Post, Cynon Valley Leader, Rhondda Leader, Pontypridd Observer) as well as on several news and music websites, and the poster re-tweeted on Twitter by singer Cerys Matthews (Catatonia), BBC radio presenter Bethan Elfyn, Matthew Pritchard of Dirty Sanchez fame and Hollywood actor Michael Sheen.

Having raised £200 for the children's hospice, and after having visited the facility, I would like to continue support by helping make people aware of the amazing work they do at Tŷ Hafan and hopefully raising more money for them in the future.

About Tŷ Hafan

"Tŷ Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales.

If you think this means we simply provide a place where children can come to die, you couldn’t be further from the truth.

We offer comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families in the hospice, in the community and in their home so they can make the most of the time they have left together.

We allow parents and carers to relax and recharge their batteries. And we make sure the needs of brothers and sisters are never forgotten.

We are there for families in Wales for however long they need us – at home, in hospital, at school and in our hospice.

Importantly, we’re also a family’s safe haven when their child is close to the end of life, providing expert comfort and support in their darkest hours and beyond."

Life limited is a term they use to describe a child not expected to live beyond 18 years of age.  Tŷ Hafan has supported around 600 children since opening in 1999.
